Doris Booth's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Dombrowski Booth of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center. She was 74 years old.
Doris was born on January 27, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Peter and Florence Keough Dombrowski. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Edwin F. Booth in 2013.
She was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School and worked at Bell Atlantic Telephone Co in Philadelphia until she started her family. After moving to Delaware in 1982, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area. She enjoyed the water, sunshine, crabbing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children, Karen McCaffrey and her companion Butch Hicks of Millsboro, DE; Connie Baker and her husband Paul of Georgetown, DE; Christine Welsh and her husband John of Millsboro, DE, Teresa McCaffrey of Millsboro, DE and Peter McCaffrey and his wife Julie of Millsboro, DE; three step-children, Edwin F. Booth, III and his wife Nancy of Georgetown, DE, Lynda Sparks and her husband Paul of Georgetown, DE and Kimberly Zionkowski of Maryland, five sisters, Janet Deal and her husband Harry, Carol Arbach and her husband John, Nancy Gansky and her husband Lou, Marie Thomas and her husband John and Teresa Watanabe and her husband Mike. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her lifelong sorority members who she kept in touch with throughout her life as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM for visitation and viewing. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Doris's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
