DORIS IRENE REVEL's Obituary
Mrs. Doris I. Revel of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was 84 years old.
Doris was born on July 27, 1932 in Gumboro, DE to the late Lee and Marry Elizabeth Baker. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband James A. Revel Sr., as well as siblings, Margaret, Madaline, Sarah, Clifford, Chester, Calvin, Charles, Linwood and a grandson Bryan.
She retired from the State of Delaware where she worked as a cook at the Stockley Center. She was a member of The Journey (Millsboro Wesleyan Church) and also attended Shiloh United Methodist Church and Blackwater Fellowship. Doris was a prayer warrior. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Doris enjoyed travelling, and was always on the go. She also liked gardening, family gatherings and loved to spoil her grand dogs. Her Christmas fudge will be missed this year by many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by two sons, James Revel Jr. and his wife Cathy of Millsboro, DE; Matthew Revel and his wife Gail of Delmar, MD and a daughter, Vikki Revel Saltsman and her husband Kem of Blairsville, PA; two sisters-in-law, Joan Baker and Helen Faye Pepper as well as four grandchildren Cody and his wife Ashley; Cole; Jessica and her fiancé Terry; and Brandon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Carey's Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in honor of Doris to a favorite charity.
