DOROTHY ""DOTTIE"" LEE BEST's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Lee Best ""Dottie"" of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was 87 years old. Dottie was born on August 4, 1927 in Bladenboro, NC to the late Albe M. and Ethel J. Spenser Milliken. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Horace H. Best, Sr. in 2011, and two sisters, Ilene and Estelle. She was a homemaker, taking care of her husband and three children. In her younger years she was very involved in democratic politics and was a former democratic committee woman. She loved her family and grandchildren. Dottie was always involved with people, opinionated and expressive. You always knew where she stood and she had people's best interest at heart. She is survived by three children, Judy Daniels of Claymont, DE; Mary Coale of North East, MD; and Horace H. Best, Jr. of Millsboro, DE; six grandchildren, Gina Dry, Tammy Coffey, Lori Channell, John Spence, Joseph Daniels and Horace H. Best, III along with ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
