Dorothy "Dottie" Bucheri Holmes' Obituary
Dorothy (Dottie) Buccheri Holmes (nee Salafia), 82, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
Dorothy was born on May 9, 1940, to the late Salvatore and Concetta Rose Salafia (nee Castagna) in Baltimore, MD. In 1961, Dottie married William James Holmes, Sr. and went on to have 5 children: William Jr. & Robin Holmes, Joseph & Julie Holmes, Mark & Raquel Holmes, Lisa & Daniel Gray, and Mary Beth & Michael O’Neill. Dottie also leaves behind 17 grandchildren: Morgan, Michael, Miranda Holmes, Melissa Rye and Steven Jaron; Jeremy Levee, Breanna & Graham Dye, Aliza Holmes & fiancé Leonard DeFino, and Marissa Holmes; Samuel Holmes & Friane Mitch Concepcion; Nikolaos, Natalie, Dominic, & Alexander Gray; Ryan & Madison O’Neill; and 4 great grandchildren, Asher Dye, Raven Jaron, McKinley Rye, Melbourne Rye. Dottie is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Corona, of York, PA. Dottie lived for her family and only wanted her children to remain close. That was her only wish.
Visitation, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 7pm – 9 pm at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE, 19966. A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2023, 11am at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE, 19958.
