Dorothy Mae Quillen's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy M. Quillen of Millsboro, DE passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Delaware Hospice Center. She was 81 years old.
Dorothy was born in Laurel, DE on June 26, 1942, to the late Calvin and Beatrice Jones Baker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers Ralph Baker and Harold “Buddy” Baker.
She retired from Wilmington Trust Bank as a customer service representative after 45 years of service. She loved animals, especially dogs. Dorothy enjoyed reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. She was known to be very loving, kind, and generous and was the type of person who would rather give to others than receive.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Elrick R. Quillen of Millsboro, DE; two daughters Lisa Walls (Kevin), and Renee Knowles (Jimmy)); three stepchildren John Quillen (Brenda), Michael Quillen (Karen) and Tami Gerberick (Jeremy); as well as one sister Cheryl Jarvis. She was blessed with three grandchildren: Lauren Moore, Justin Dempsey and Robert D. Rogers IV, along with four step grandchildren: Ethan, Luke and Kyle Gerberick and Michael Quillen, Jr. as well as three great grandchildren Nathan, Layla and Wade Moore. Dorothy is also survived by extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care provided to Dorothy and her family by the staff of the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
