Douglas Harlan West's Obituary
Douglas Harlan West, born on March 15, 1951, in Salisbury, Maryland, to the late John Emory West and Mary Catherine West Hearn, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Milford, Delaware.
Douglas spent much of his life as a skilled mason in the construction industry before transitioning to a career as a truck driver. A proud patriot, he served honorably as a military policeman in the United States Marine Corps. In his free time, Douglas enjoyed watching football, always cheering on his favorite team, the Washington Redskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; and his brothers, David West and Keith West.
Douglas is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Caulder (Charles) and April Galton; his cherished grandchildren, Erica Hull (Danny), Zachary Adkins, and Thorne Galton; and his great-grandchildren, Emmett, Warren, and Josie Hull. He also leaves behind his brothers, Lamont West and Daniel West (Sandy), as well as extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Delaware.

Douglas's strength, kindness, and devotion to his family and country will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
