Obituary for Edith T. Rodgers
Edith Rodgers, a daughter of the late John and Mary Mears, was born in Sinepuxent, (Berlin) Maryland on October 31, 1921. She departed this life on Saturday January 14, 2017 at the age of 95 years old.
Edith was employed at Mountaire Farms in Selbyville, Delaware until she retired in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Ross Hevelowe Rodgers and two sons John and Billy Rodgers. Edith leaves to cherish her memory three sons: William Rodgers and companion LaVonne Purnell of Selbyville, Delaware , Joe Rodgers and companion Sarah Drummond of Millsboro, Delaware, and Ross Rodgers and wife Gloria of Frankford, Delaware, along with fifteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 13325 Worcester Hwy, Bishopville, MD 21813, where friends may call from 11 AM - 12 PM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in Wesley U.M. Church Cemetery in Clarksville, DE.
