EDWARD DALE ""SLIM"" DAVIS's Obituary
Mr. Edward Dale ""Slim"" Davis of Gumboro, DE, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. He was 91 years old. Mr. Davis was born on January 13, 1922 in Lansing, NC to the late Charles Edward and Betty Audrey Davis. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by siblings, Charles H. (Jack), June, Jean and Betty. Edward moved to Gumboro after retiring from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a former member of UAW, former member of the American Legion. He was a cowboy. He enjoyed horseracing, slots, guns, cooking especially flapjacks. He was a wonderful person who liked to joke around. He also liked woodworking and could build just about anything. He enjoyed his family and visiting family members in NC. He is survived by his wife and companion of 24 years, Loretta E. Davis of Gumboro, DE; a son, Lonnie Davis of Elkton, MD; eleven step children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and let's not forget his feline friend ""Cat"". His most memorable times were spent with family. The family would also like to mention the special ladies from DE Hospice who cared for him, especially Dana. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 12:00 Noon.
