My Dad was an amazing man. He taught me so much about being a caring and compassionate person. He was my mentor, my hero and my friend. He gave with his heart and never expected anything in return. He had a way of finding the most unique gifts and once he found out something you liked he would go out of his way to find it. He always had a story to tell or a joke to share. He enjoyed singing and dancing to the oldies. He was the first one on the floor kicking his legs in the air to "Shout" or twisting the night away. He taught all the kids the song "Nah NAh Nah Hey Hey Hey Goodbye" which they never forget. He would stay up all weekend cooking the pig when we had our annual PIG Roasts. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with my mom. He was a member on Dr Wagner's hot air balloon team and drove the team van the entire way to Alberque New Mexico for the festival while everyone else flew. He knew I saved shot glasses from places that I or someone I knew visited. So I told him that I wanted one from each state he drove through to get to Alberque. In his fashion he came home with shot glasses from all 50 states that he bought at one gift shop. He would give you the shirt off his back and nobody else would know it. I saw him countless times help a stranger in need or give a ride when nobody else would offer. He drove the DART paratransit bus and his customers loved him. They affectionately called him "Santa Claus". He was a little gruff around the edges but that was his way. He was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan having grown up in the city. He was truly one of a kind and I am forever blessed to have had him as my Father for 57 years. He loved unconditionally and didn't make you feel bad when you made a mistake. He married the love of his life my mom and when she passed it broke his heart. I believe they are together now and have peace. I will miss them both every day. My heart is broken. I will treasure every memory and do my best to honor their legacy. I will forever love Dad - Your Daughter ♡
