EILEEN M ZUIDERHOF's Obituary
Eileen M. Zuiderhof, of Millsboro and formerly of Waldorf, MD passed away surrounded by her family at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes on April 4, 2016. She was born on April 30, 1948 to the late Joseph Mathieu, and Mary Purcell Mathieu, who survives her. She was a registered nurse serving more than 30 years, at the University of Maryland Southern Regional Hospital, where she was "nurse of the year" in 2005. She later served as a Med/Surg. nurse at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes, DE. She was a warm, caring, and loving person who cherished her kids, grandkids, and her husband. She was admired by her colleagues. A "big thing" to her was grandkids, and scrap-booking. She also liked photography, and loved walking on the beach. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Zuiderhof, and three children: Chris Zuiderhof, and his wife Erin, of Raleigh, NC; Matt Zuiderhof, and his wife Dana, of Doylestown, PA: Noreen Schanaman, and her husband Joe, of Parkville, MD. Seven grandchildren: Adelaide Zuiderhof; Iris Zuiderhof; Grant Zuiderhof; Aubrey Zuiderhof; Lily Zuiderhof; and Danielle and Sam Schanaman. She is also survived by two siblings: Marian Mathieu Wilson, of Lindenhurst, NY; Barbara Mathieu, of Long Island, NY as well as extended family and friends.
Calling hours and a time of visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016, from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM with a funeral service and Celebration of Her Life beginning at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro, DE. Rev. Ed Kuhling will officiate. Interment follows at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church; PO Box 566; Millsboro, DE 19966.
