Eric G Widen, Jr's Obituary
Mr. Eric G. Widen, Jr., age 82, passed away December 3, 2014 at Capitol Health Rehabilitation Center in Dover DE. He was born July 26, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, NY. He moved to Elkton MD when he was a child. He graduated from Elkton High School in 1951. Mr. Widen served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He retired from the Diamond State Telephone Company after 27 years of service. He was a Past District Governor of the Lions Club of Delaware 1973-1974. He was very proud to have started the Sight Mobile for the Delaware Lions. Mr. Widen was preceded in death by his parents, Eric G. Widen Sr. and Eleanora Wenneburg Widen. He is survived by an ex-wife Evelyn Widen of Greenwood DE along with his sons, Carl E. Widen and his wife Carol of Seaford DE, and Mark S. Widen and his wife Michele of Greenwood DE, granddaughters Kaycee Widen of Millsboro DE, Nicole Widen and Annika Widen of Greenwood DE and great granddaughters Kailey Johnson and Amina Green of Millsboro DE. He is also survived by his sister Margareta Harris of Elkton MD, nieces Michelle Harrington and her husband Matt of Elkton MD, Connie Colosimo and husband Jimmy of Elkton MD, nephew Kevin Harris and his wife Becky of Newark DE. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in Mr. Widen's memory to Millsboro Lions Club, c/o Pastor Chris Cordrey, 338 Putting Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
