Evelyn Blanche Hudson's Obituary
Evelyn Blanche Hudson, age 92, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare. Born on November 13, 1932, in Milford, DE, she was the daughter of the late Horace S. Rogers, Sr. and Anna Mae (Littleton) Rogers.
Evelyn attended John M. Clayton High School in Dagsboro, DE where she grew up. It was not long after that she met and married the love of her life, George R Hudson. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children. Evelyn fully embraced her role as a homemaker and mother, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to the care and love of her family.
A gifted cook, Evelyn was especially known for her chicken and dumplings. She found her greatest joy in gathering her family around the dinner table, particularly on Sunday evenings, where love, laughter, and her delicious home-cooked meals were shared. She was selfless, always giving all she had—sometimes more—for the well-being of her children and grandchildren. Evelyn's gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over thirty years, George Richard Hudson, in 1978; two children, Pamela Sue Hudson and Richard Wayne Hudson; her daughter-in-law, Janet D. Hudson; her granddaughter, Lori Ann Bailey; and her brother, Horace S. Rogers, Jr.
Evelyn is survived by her siblings, Asher L. Rogers and Mary Ellen Marvel. And her children: Bradley A. Hudson (Edna), Bonnie K. Wilder (Burnley), and George Burton Hudson (Diane Lewis) her grandchildren: Dallas,Brandon,Amy, Tara, Crystal, George II, Jenna, Sheila, Jackie, and her great-grandchildren: Brandon Jr., Beau, Laila, Gemma, Kaylee, Kinsley, Billy, Pheonix, Blake, and Austin. As well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Frankford, DE.
