Obituary of Mr. Floyd R. Vaughn
Mr. Floyd R. Vaughn of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Mystic Island, NJ passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. He was 82 years old.
Floyd was born in New Rochelle, NY to the late Floyd C. and Grace P. Reid Vaughn. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Barbara E. Westog.
He was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1956 and also a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Floyd retired from the DuPont Chemical Plant as an Instrument Mechanic after 27 ½ years of service. He was very active with outdoor activities such as boating, camping, crabbing, fishing, gardening and loved spending summers on the boat. Floyd was a real-life MacGyver who could fix just about anything. He had a stubborn streak at times but was always willing to help someone if needed. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend who will be dearly missed.
Floyd is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Vera Jeannine Vaughn of Millsboro, DE and a son F. Michael Vaughn of Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Moss Street Cemetery in Hudson Falls, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234, 29265 Marshy Hope Way, Ocean View, DE 19970.
