Francis James Passmore's Obituary
Francis James Passmore “Rooster”, age 70, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Passmore was born on April 18, 1955, in Wilmington, Delaware, son of Vera Passmore and the late Francis Howard Passmore.
A skilled auto mechanic and craftsman, Mr. Passmore dedicated his life to the home improvement company "Aluminum Fabricators" in northern Delaware and later served as the owner and operator of "Rooster’s Repair", a trusted auto shop in Sussex County.
A true gearhead at heart, Mr. Passmore loved drag racing, attending car shows, and collecting Hot Wheels—a passion he never outgrew. He was a loyal fan of the Washington Commanders and a lifelong enthusiast of WWE wrestling. Weekends often found him camping with family, sharing stories by the fire, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Mr. Passmore is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie Passmore; his two daughters: Alicia Wright (James Jr.) and Dayna Melson (Philip); his six grandchildren: Abby, Benny, Viv, Gracie, Chey, and Waylon; his three sisters: Lisa Murphy, Diana Brown, and Sharon Burke; his two nieces Kathleen and Erica; his two nephews Steven and Thomas; his close cousin Lou Passmore; a host of extended family and dear friends, and his loving min-pin “Coco.”
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor “Rooster’s” memory by donating a Hot Wheels car to a local toy drive.
