Gary Scott Canonico's Obituary
Gary Scott Canonico, age 67, passed away on November 15, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. Born on June 7, 1958, in Middletown, NY, Gary was the son of the late Gateion and Doris (Wolters) Canonico.
Gary began his education at Middletown North High School and completed high school at Middletown South High School, where he was a dedicated athlete who excelled in both football and wrestling. Following graduation, he attended Brookdale Community College before beginning a successful career in real estate, later becoming a mortgage broker.
A man of many passions, Gary especially loved racing sailboats with his close friend. He was also deeply committed to supporting his sons, proudly coaching their soccer and baseball teams throughout their youth. His generous spirit, leadership, and love for his family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Canonico. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kelly Canonico; his beloved sons, Dane Canonico and Connor Canonico (Tessa); and his brothers, Gateion Canonico and Glenn Canonico.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, with a visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM prior to the service.
A Memorial Gathering will also be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ 08759.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA at https://www.secure.aspca.org/donate or to a charity of your choice.
Gary’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who cherished him.
