George Edward Barnhouser, Jr.'s Obituary
George Edward Barnhouser, Jr., age 70, of Delaware, passed away on March 5, 2026, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, Delaware.
Born on December 16, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late George Edward Barnhouser, Sr. and Edna Barnhouser (nee Reis).
George dedicated many years of service as an electrician with the United States Coast Guard. He was known for his steady work ethic and the pride he took in his professions that include a Pet Store in Baltimore and weekends at the flea market.
Outside of work, George had a passion for collecting stamps and coins and took great pleasure in building and maintaining his collections. He enjoyed challenging his children to a game of chess. He was on bowling and billiard leagues. He had a church family. Not only did he enjoy traveling for work, but he also enjoyed traveling to places that included Key West, New Orleans, Salem, and even traveled to countries that included Mexico, Haiti, and Jamaica.
George will be remembered most for the love he had for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Ann Barnhouser; his children, Crystal Fridy (Bill) and George Edward Barnhouser, III (Heather); his grandson, Hayden Barnhouser; and his sister, Patricia Smith (Bob Hamilton); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church, 20304 N. Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947, with a viewing from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service.
Interment will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy., Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
