GEORGE ""EVERETT"" EVERETT DUKES's Obituary
Mr. George Everett Dukes of Dagsboro, DE passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. He was 87 years old. Everett was born on November 6, 1927 in Frankford, DE to the late Horace J. and Edna Franklin Dukes. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Saunders, a brother, Warren Dukes and two canine friends ""Thor"" and ""Lucky"". He retired from Townsend's Inc. after 42 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and a past member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, DE. Everett was a good person and a hard worker. He has a great sense of humor and loved to instigate. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He also was a mechanic from the time when things were made to be worked on. He also liked hunting quail, squirrel, etc. with his dogs. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dorothy K. Dukes of Dagsboro, DE; seven children; Shirley E. Baker and her husband Jonathan of Frankford, DE; Larry E. Dukes and his wife Debbie of Dagsboro. DE; Paul E. Dukes of Dagsboro, DE; Teresa A. Honeycutt and her husband Richard of Farmington, DE; Brian Royer and his wife Mary of Maysville, NC; Michael Royer and his wife Donna of Newark, DE; Debbie Dare and her husband Jake of Millville, NJ; a sister, Evelyn Collins and her husband Robert of Gumboro, DE; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com
