George C. Grise, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.Born on December 25, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr. Grise was the son of the late Howard T. Grise and Helen (Carey) Grise.
His family later moved to Williamsville, now known as New West Fenwick, Delaware, where Mr. Grise grew up working on the family farm and learning the value of hard work, faith, and family. He graduated from Selbyville High School in 1960.
Following graduation, Mr. Grise proudly enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961. He faithfully served his country for four years and was honorably discharged in 1965.

His faith guided his life and inspired him to participate in numerous mission trips to Jamaica, where he touched many lives through service and compassion. Mr. Grise enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — watching old cowboy shows, relaxing on his front porch, and spending treasured time with his grandchildren counting airplanes overhead.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances Grise; his daughter, Tami L. Hooper; and his grandnephew, Austin Grise.
