George Edward Snow's Obituary
Mr. George Edward Snow Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2017. He was 94 years old.
Mr. Snow was born on August 1, 1922 in Dover, DE to the late George F. and Airrener Allen Snow. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Emma Snow in 2014, a son, Jonathan in 1973, four sisters and two brothers.
George was a U.S. Army Veteran during the WWII Era and a Gunner in the Army Air Corps. After serving his country he became a truck driver for several local lumber mills. He was a member of New Holy Trinity COGIC in Millsboro, DE, where he was Assistant Pastor. He was devoted to his family, especially to his grandchildren. George loved gardening and definitely had a green thumb; he could fix about anything and loved to work on cars.
He is survived by seven children Sarah Bull (Bobby) of Dagsboro, DE; Stephany Wescott ( John) of Delmar, DE; Deborah Snead of Millsboro, DE; George E. Snow, Jr. of Millsboro, DE; Lorraine "Vicki" Barnett of Burtonsville, MD and Valerie Snow of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia Payton of Millsboro, DE and Diane Watson of Colorado Springs, CO as well as seventeen grandchildren and a trove of utterly beloved great grandchildren who he adored. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at New Holy Trinity COGIC, 1st Street Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 12 noon for visitation and viewing. Elder Bobby Bull, Jr. will officiate. Burial with honors will be 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
