GINA MARIE HOLLAND's Obituary
Gina Maria Holland age 58, was called home on July 2, 2016 at Future Care Irvington Long term care after a four year battle of complications of a stroke. Gina was born March 5, 1958, in Lewes, Delaware, daughter of George and Lois Wolford.
Gina graduated from Indian River High School, and then she attended college Online at South University majoring Psychology. Where she made the Dean's List, and maintained a 4.0. Gina worked as a CNA for a total of 22 years. She worked at the Harrison House and Stokely Center. She also worked at Wawa as a cashier. She worked at Bodies in Dagsboro where she made the best subs and delicious fried chicken in town. It was said that many people did not come there to get food unless she was the chef of the day. For the last 7 years she was a homemaker. She baked cakes and prepared food for various occasions. Gina enjoyed cooking and spending time with loved ones and friends. She loved gathering different types of recipes and making them her own. She developed her own cookbook of all the various dishes she prepared. She was a devoted football fan the Dallas Cowboys was her favorite team. She would watch every game during the season. She also loved WWE wrestling.
She is predeceased by her husband John Holland Jr. Gina is survived by her parents George and Lois Wolford. Aunts Carolyn Harmon, and Doris Sturgis. Brothers Gino Sturgis, Zeb Godwin, Dwayne Wolford, George Wolford Jr., Keith Wolford. Sister In-laws Quita Godwin, Berta Wolford, Karen Wolford, and Carolyn Wolford. She is also survived by her children Jackie Walker and husband AJ Walker, Johnda Holland, John Holland III (J3), and Johnathan Holland. She has 10 grandchildren nieces; 3 nephews; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
There will be a memorial service at 10:00 AM on Friday July 8, 2016 at Antioch AME Church 194 Clayton Ave Frankford, DE 19945. All flowers and memorial donations can be sent in her name to the same address.
