Obituary of Glenn William Taylor
Glenn William Taylor, 73, of Georgetown, DE died on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Genesis Health Care in Seaford, DE.
Born in Milford, DE, he was the son of the late William R. Taylor and Lenora Marie Downs Taylor of Georgetown.
He was employed by NCR in Millsboro for 12 years and later drove a truck for Crop Production Services. In between jobs he worked as a "waterman" with his brother-in-law, the late Charlie "Buck" Hitchens. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1994.
Glenn was an avid deer hunter in his younger years but as time passed he preferred to ride and watch them feed in the fields. He was also the area farmers' best friend when he helped rid their soybean fields of the dreaded groundhog.
He is survived by his significant other of 37 years, Brenda Hitchens Taylor, two children, Kevin Taylor of Georgetown and Dawn Head and her husband Tom of Milton, DE; five grandchildren, Kevin Jr. and Shelby Taylor and Ryan, Lauryn & Allison Head, two great grandsons, Mason and Dawson Taylor. He also leaves behind a sister Ann Taylor and two nephews Johnny and David Eaton of Georgetown. Glenn is also survived by his best friend and "buddy" Rodney McGee.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Millsboro Fire Hall, 109 E. State St., Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
