Obituary of Haddie Rust Parsons
Mrs. Haddie Rust Parsons of Millsboro, DE passed away on July 7, 2019 at Beebe Medical Center. She was 85 years old.
Mrs. Parsons was born on January 27, 1934 to the late Alfred Lee Rust, Jr. and Laura Clifton Rust. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother Donald Rust.
Haddie married Robert, the love of her life, on December 7, 1951 and together raised three children. She worked as a manager at Kim Manufacturing which was a sewing factory in Selbyville, DE. She also co-owned an antique shop for 19 years with her husband. Haddie attended Oak Orchard Community Church. She enjoyed sewing and was a fantastic seamstress and a fabulous cook. She had a lovely personality and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved spending time with her family and doting and spoiling her husband. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, Robert H. Parsons of Millsboro, DE; three children, Diane Cordrey and her husband Charles of Dagsboro, DE; Dennis Parsons and his wife Patty of Millsboro, DE and Kevin Parsons also of Millsboro, DE. She is also survived by three brothers, Melvin Rust and his wife Barbara of Dagsboro, DE. Everette Rust and his wife Betty of Millsboro, DE and Dale Rust and his wife Rachel of Millsboro, DE, as well as a sister-in-law, Barbara Rust of Grafton, VA. Haddie leaves behind four grandchildren Brent Parsons (Terri), David Parsons (Dana), Sam Parsons and Mathew Parsons and one great grandson, Jay.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday July 12, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE, where friends may call from 12 Noon - 1:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Orchard Community Church.
