Hazel Marie Baker's Obituary
Mrs. Hazel M. Baker of Gumboro, DE passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. She was 87 years old.
Mrs. Baker was born in Millsboro, DE on May 1, 1929 to the late George W. and Ruth Bowden Dorey. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Baker in 1987 as well as a brother E. Lee Dorey and a sister in law Coleta Dorey.
She was a homemaker and helped out on the family farm with chickens and pigs. She loved gardening, baking and making everything homemade. She was very friendly and enjoyed talking to her friends on the phone. If someone was in need she was the type of person who would always lend a helping hand. She was a member of Carey's United Methodist Church and also attended Gumboro and Bethel United Methodist Churches.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda J. Davis and her husband Ronald of Gumboro, DE; Janet M. Clendaniel and her husband David of Magnolia, DE; Paula A. White and her husband Jeff of Gumboro, DE; two brothers, Ralph Dorey and his wife Josephine of Millsboro, DE and J. Reese Dorey and his wife Esther also of Millsboro, DE. She is also survived by two grandchildren, David W. Clendaniel, II and Sara M. Clendaniel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 10:00 AM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery.
