JANICE LEE ALLISON's Obituary
Obituary of Mrs. Janice Allison
Janice Lee Allison, 67, of Millsboro was called home to be with our Lord, while in the care of Regal Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hockessin, DE on August 5, 2016. She was born on March 4, 1949 in Lewes, DE to the late L. Layton and Jeannette (Collins) Boyce. She attended John M. Clayton school in Frankford, then went on to obtain her high school diploma later in life, something of which she was very proud. She held numerous jobs over the years before retiring to become a full time homemaker. She was devoted to her family and they remain devoted to her. She held a great fondness of all holidays, and enjoyed them to the fullest, decorations included: if you don't believe that, look in her shed - she had something in there for everything, including Groundhog Day!
She loved movies and reading, laughing, chatting, spending time with her family, and singing everywhere, especially in a church pew with a good hymn. She held a deep admiration for Elvis and was a huge fan. Her warmth, compassion, kindness, generosity, sweetness and ability to give gentle advice and guidance earned her the admiration and respect of everyone she knew. She loved to be there for, and help anyone and everyone, simply because that's who she was and will always be: a kind soul. She was far more than a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt or friend. As her children emphatically stated: "she was the glue that held us all together." She is greatly missed and loved.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years: Henry Lee Allison; and three cherished children: Dawn Scott and her husband, Steve, of Melbourne, FL; Melissa (Missy) Buck, and husband John, of Dagsboro, DE; and Jerry Franklin, of Delmar, DE; and four adored siblings: Robert Boyce, and his wife Patsy, of Dagsboro; Faye Shockley, and husband Johnny, of Selbyville; Eben Boyce, of Dagsboro; and Brian Boyce, and his wife, Sandy, also of Dagsboro. Janice was preceded by her sister: Becky Boyce, in 2013. She is also survived by seven treasured grandchildren: Shawn Scott; James Buck, and his wife Sue; Brent Scott; Jordan Buck; Jacque Buck; Samuel Franklin; and J.B. Buck. Janice is also survived by an extended family of loved nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home, in Millsboro, DE with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Pastor Robert Boyce will officiate. Interment is to follow at the Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed.
