Jeanette Carrie Hudson's Obituary
Jeanette C. Hudson, of Gumboro, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 30, 2021. She was 84 years old.
She was born on February 21, 1937, in Lewes, DE to the late Joseph and Alice Gordon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Franklin P. Hudson Sr., a daughter Bonita Baker a grandson Matthew Baker, a sister Joan Williams and a brother Joe Gordon.
Jeanette retired after 26 years of service from the State of Delaware where she was employed as an accountant at the Stockley Center.
Her family remembers her dry humor and love of ice cream. She was described as having the best sayings. Jeanette is also remembered as having a caring, compassionate heart for those in need. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She was also a member of Gumboro Wesleyan Church.
Jeanette is survived by her children Jerry F. Hudson of Gumboro, Terry Fleming of Georgetown, Tom V. (Carol) Hudson of Gumboro, Franklin Hudson Jr. of Gumboro, and Richard Hudson of Greenwood. She is also survived by her brother Harry (Pat) Gordon of Georgetown, her sister Doris (Wayne) Wilkerson of Georgetown, sister-in-law Gloria Gordon of Georgetown, and brother-in-law Harold Williams of Georgetown. She also leaves behind grandson Tommy V. Hudson Jr. of Georgetown, and great granddaughter Samantha (David) Hill, and two great great grandchildren, Chloe and Hudson Hill.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Gumboro Wesleyan Church, 36842 Millsboro Hwy, Millsboro, DE 19966.
