JESSE DONALD PARSONS's Obituary
Jesse Donald Parsons, 84, of Dagsboro, DE passed away in the care of Guiding Hands Assisted Living Center in Berlin, MD on June 21, 2016. He was born on March 28, 1932 in Dagsboro to the late Jesse W. and Georgie Lewis Parsons. He served in the US Army during the Korean War era, and served in Germany. He married his sweetheart, Vera Holland and raised two children. He worked for, and retired from the Campbell Soup company as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, in Berlin. He played on the company softball team, loved golfing and fishing -- was fond of camping, and a good dancer. He was a loving husband, a great father and grandfather, and a superb caretaker during his wife's prolonged illness. Vera preceded him in 1999 after a wonderful 45 years of marriage.
Jesse is survived by his children: Christopher Parsons, and his wife Diane, of Berlin and Donna Lou Cummings, and her husband Daniel, of Seaford, DE. He also has three grandchildren: Brian Cummings; Jessica Harris; and Amanda Parsons; and one great grandchild: Elisa Harris.
His funeral service will be on Monday, June 27 at the Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE at 1:00 PM with Pastor Linda Mariner officiating. Friends may call one hour prior, from Noon till 1:00 PM for visiting and a viewing. Interment follows in Millsboro Cemetery.
