OBITUARY OF MRS. JOAN WOOLBERT Mrs. Joan Woolbert of Millsboro, Delaware, (formerly from Sewell, NJ) passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Berlin Nursing and Rehab. Ventilator Care Unit, Berlin, MD. She was 80 years old. Joan was born in Camden, NJ, on January 11, 1935, to the late Mario Bruno and Theodosia Abrams Bruno. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Bruno and Robert Bruno. Joan was a graduate of Pitman High School and West Jersey School of Nursing; she practiced as a Registered Nurse for 30 years. She suffered with her lung and spinal diseases for over 30 years, earning the respect and admiration of all her medical caretakers. She fought her diseases to the end, greeting each visitor with her smile. Joan loved camping at Winding River Campground in Mays Landing for 40 years, making many life-long friends. She loved surf fishing, sitting on her deck enjoying the hummingbirds and flowers, and always looked forward to visits from family and friends. Joan loved to bake, and made many trays of Christmas cookies every year. Her faithful canine ""Joe"" was always by her side. Most importantly, Joan was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John ""Jack"" Woolbert of Millsboro, DE; two sons: Jack and wife Carolann of Gibbstown, NJ; and Jim and wife Chris of Lewes, DE; brother Thomas Bruno; sister Theodosia Stuart; sister-in-laws Judy Bruno, Haeryon Bruno, and Elizabeth Beck; granddaughter Jill Burger (Michael); grandson Mark Avis; two great grandsons Tyler and Zachary Burger; many nieces and nephews and her ""adopted"" West-Rohlfing family as well as extended family and friends. Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Berlin Nursing and Rehab.
