John Edward Jones, III's Obituary
John Edward Jones, III, 63, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on January 22, 2026.
Born to Christine Jones and the late John Edward Jones, Jr., John was a proud member of the DelCastle High School Class of 1980. He worked as an electrician his entire life, including 20 dedicated years with Amtrak. He was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church.
John was positive, easygoing, and deeply spiritual, with a great love for nature. In his free time, he enjoyed making dream catchers and stone necklaces, and he had a passion for model trains. He lived by his motto, “living it, loving it.”
He is survived by his mother, Christine Jones; his loving wife, Ethel Jones; his son, John Paul Jones; his daughter, Ashley Jones; and his cherished grandchildren, Lillian Lynn Jones, John Paul Jones II (JP), and Emalee Christian Walton. He was preceded in death by his father and his son, Jesse Jones.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00AM.
