John Kabino Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. John Kabino, Jr. of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Beebe Health Care.
He was 78 years old.
John was born in Intercourse, PA on November 21, 1944, to the late John and Elsie Aukamp Kabino. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife of 49 years, Anne Kabino, a son, Jeffrey Christopher Kabino, two sisters, Joanne Whiteman and Katherine Letterman, along with one brother Joey Kabino.
He was a Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War Era. He also served in the reserves from 1966 through 1967. He retired from General Motors after about 30 years of service. He was also a truck driver for approximately 15 years. In his spare time John loved cars, talking about his time in Vietnam, traveling, eating different types of food, watching Sci Fi movies, and playing with his grandchildren.
John is survived by two sons: Lee Michael Kabino of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Johnny Kabino of Virginia, one daughter Ashley Kabino of Lewes, DE; one brother Jake Kabino of Georgetown, DE and three sisters: Mary Bradford , Bertha Williams, and Betty Urie. He was blessed with ten grandchildren: David, Courtney, Melanie, Isabella, Bryan, Rosalie, Eva, Lilly, Lena and Joseph as well as two great grandchildren. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit from 11:00 AM to 12 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in John’s memory to Home of the Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
