John Raymond Liskiewicz's Obituary
John Raymond Liskiewicz, 71, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Norristown, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on March 3, 2026.
Born on July 1, 1954, in Norristown, PA, John was the devoted son of the late Charles Joseph and Jennie (Cronrath) Liskiewicz. After graduating from high school, John proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Marines reflected the discipline, strength, and commitment that would remain hallmarks of his character throughout his life.
Following his military service, John built a dedicated career as a carpenter running his own business and eventually with Merck & Co. John was also a mechanic and owned his own glass shop for a few years. A skilled craftsman with a strong work ethic, he took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.
John was a man who never liked to sit still. He found joy in maintaining his home and lawn, always making sure everything was neat, tidy, and in perfect working order. If something was broken, John could fix it. He had a deep love for cars and shared many wonderful memories with his beloved wife, Gail, as members of the Corvette Club. Together, they also enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories with family and friends, especially summer visits with their grandchildren.
A lifelong learner, John was always curious and eager to understand how things worked. He embraced every opportunity to learn something new and approached life with determination and enthusiasm.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his cherished son, Christopher Liskiewicz, his brother, Charles Liskiewicz, Jr. and his faithful dog, Trixie.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail A. Liskiewicz; his daughters, Lisa Smith-Mellen and Lauren Smith; his treasured grandchildren, Tyler Blevins, Alisa Blevins, Bryan Mellen, and Kyleigh Mellen, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Celebration of Life will be held both in Delaware and Pennsylvania at a later date.
John will be remembered for his strength, his steady presence, his love of family, and the pride he took in everything he did. His legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love will live on in all who knew him.
