Obituary of John Edward Moroney
John Edward Moroney, of Millsboro, and formerly of Pennsylvania passed away in the care of Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE on August 3, 2020. He was 70 years old. John was born on October 7, 1949 in West Grove, PA to the late John Vincent and Lida Dashe Moroney. He was a retired printer, having served for 35 years in that business. He liked camping, fishing, crabbing and working on cars. He was funny, witty and ornery - a totally wonderful Dad, Step-Dad, and loving Pop-pop. He was very entertaining, with stories of his youth and his "vehicular & race car" stories. He was particularly devoted to his wife, Deborah, who he married on July 3, 1985 in New Castle, DE.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann Doberstein Moroney; and his children: Amy Woitko (Paul) of New Castle, DE; and Doug Lindell (Carrie) of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving are his siblings: Joan Cornette, of Kitty Hawk, NC; Lida Borgnis (Alfie) of Ponce Inlet, FL; and William Doberstein (Marie) of Wilmington, DE. John has four beloved grandchildren: Amelia; Emma; Elise; and Megan.
