Joseph Michael Krescanko's Obituary
Joseph Michael Krescanko of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 90.
He was born on January 5, 1936, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph George Krescanko and Blanche Kishel Krescanko. Joseph was a devoted father, a respected mentor, and a kind-hearted individual who positively impacted the lives of his children and many others.
Joseph proudly served in the United States Army as a General’s driver, where he earned recognition for his exceptional driving skills, winning numerous competitions. Following his service, he became a highly skilled automotive mechanic and a dedicated professional throughout his career.
He was a graduate of Mastbaum Vocational High School in Kensington, Pennsylvania. Over the years, Joseph demonstrated strong entrepreneurial spirit by establishing Krescanko Plastics Sign Company in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, which was later renamed Kris Sign Company. He eventually relocated the business to Aston, Pennsylvania, and later to Twin Oaks, PA, where it continued to grow. He also worked as a successful salesman at Beldin Wire Corporation. Continuing his business ventures, Joseph founded ABC Vinyl Repair and Upholstery Company in Claymont, Delaware.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 40 years, Doris Krescanko. He is survived by his son, Michael Krescanko, and his daughter, Sharon Becker; step-children Susan Ikeler (Tom), Ann Lacono (Ralph), John Maxey (Mary), and David Maxey (Gail).
A chapel committal will be held at 11:00 AM on April 17, 2026, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. All who knew Joseph are invited to attend.
