JOSEPHINE BIZZOCO's Obituary
DAGSBORO - Beloved neighbor and friend, Josephine Pastore Bizzoco of Dagsboro, formerly of Glen Echo Heights, MD., died Saturday April 27th of complications resulting from pneumonia, in Atlantic Shores care facility, Millsboro, DE. She was 94. Mrs. Bizzoco was born on April 7, 1919 and grew up in East Harlem, New York City daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina Amoroso Pastore. She is preceded by her late husband Felix F. Bizzoco also of New York City. As a young girl Mrs. Bizzoco was an exceptional student graduating from high school at the age of 16 with a medal in French. She entered the work force as a secretary at the height of the Great Depression. She met her future husband in 1940 and they were married in 1944 just prior to his being sent to the Philippines as part of the Philippine Liberation Army. Upon his return to the US, they settled in Washington, DC, where they lived until their retirement in 1979. After raising their two children, Mrs. Bizzoco went to work as a library assistant and school secretary in the Montgomery County, Maryland elementary school system, from which she also retired in 1979. In 1980 they moved to Dagsboro where they lived. Mrs. Bizzoco was a member of the St Michael's Catholic Church in Georgetown. She is survived by her children Francis (Frank) Bizzoco and Susan (Sue) Quintana also of Dagsboro, their Grand children, Andrew Quintana, Daniel Bizzoco and Dominic Bizzoco and their great grandchildren Daniella Bizzoco and Alexander Quintana. Services will be Tuesday 14 May at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro. She will join her husband in the veterans cemetery.
