JOYCE MAE MURRAY's Obituary
Obituary of Mrs. Joyce M. Murray: Joyce Mae Murray, 81, of Millsboro passed away in the loving care of her family on October 31, 2014. She was born in Millsboro on April 3, 1933 to the late Wilbur S. and Effie Phillips Hitchens. She was retired from the Indian River School District. Joyce was married to the late Russell W. Murray, Sr. in 1954 and together they raised four children. Russell passed away in 1999. She loved hummingbirds and ceramics, and baking. She always had a smile, and was always on the go. She is survived by her children: Rhonda Timmons, of Millsboro; Russell W. Murray, Jr. and his wife, Trudy, of Laurel, DE; Kandis Malone, and her husband, Richard (""Butch"") of Dagsboro; and Dennis Murray, and his wife, Barbara, of Georgetown. She also has four grandchildren: Chelsea Rathfon; Tyler Timmons; Jordon Malone; and Caitlin Murray and one great-grandchild: Leighonna Rathfon. In addition, she is survived by a cousin, Virginia Christopherson, and a long time friend and companion, Jim Walker and many friends, her fellow cafeteria workers, and all the kids she served over the years. A funeral service and Celebration of Her Life is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE where friends may call from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM for visitation. Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Kaeton will officiate. Interment follows at Millsboro Cemetery.
