Judith Lynn Morris' Obituary
Judith Lynn Morris, age 81, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of West Chester, PA, passed away after a long hard-fought battle with Cancer at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE, on November 16, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Allen and Florence Joynes.
Ms. Morris graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1960. She later moved to West Chester where she worked as a secretary for many years with Emergency Medical Services of Chester County from which she retired. She was a member of the Bethel AME Church where she made lifelong friends. She enjoyed Saturday night card games playing Pokeno with her friends. Ms. Morris loved music, aerobics, and frequenting yard sales”. She had a loving personality and was known for the sparkle in her eyes.
Ms. Morris had a huge heart, opening her home to anyone in need. She was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and her extended family who affectionately knew her as “Nana”. She could be found watching her beloved reality tv shows or listening to R&B music. Ms. Morris moved to Millsboro in 2011 to be closer to her true love, the beach. Relaxing in the sun, the sand, and the waves was her favorite pastime, only second to sitting on the boardwalk and people watching.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Morris is preceded in passing by her son, Elliot Morris in 1998; her daughter, Shelley Morris in 1973; her grandson, Ryan Morris in 2021; her brother, Donald Joynes in 2012; and her husband, Brooks Morris in 2018. She is survived by her son, Wendell Morris of Harrisburg, PA; her daughter, Tracey Morris of Millsboro, DE; her sister Patricia Joynes of Philadelphia, PA; her daughter in law, Odette Morris; and her grandson, Samuel Morris of Harrisburg, PA.
