KATHERINE M SMITH's Obituary
Katherine M. Smith ""Kit"" of Georgetown, DE passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes DE. She was 64 years old. Kit was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Eugene and Mary Harkins Slevin. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister Barbara Rohlfing and a brother John ""Jack"" Rohlfing. Mrs. Smith had previously owned and operated her own catering business. She enjoyed going to McDonalds with her friends, sending cards, playing computer games, and playing cards with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, especially the Poconos. Kit's favorite saying was ""you'll miss me someday."" She also always spoke her mind. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, William D. Smith of Georgetown, DE; three children, George Bixby and his wife Melissa of Millsboro, DE; Timothy Bixby of Millsboro, DE; and Kristina Hassler and her husband Roger of Georgetown, DE; 10 siblings, Edward Rohlfing, Sally Irwin, Mary Weaver, Helen Pace, Joan Smith, William Rohlfing, Eugene Rohlfing, Rose West, Larry Rohlfing and Florie Milligan; along with five grandchildren, Kolby, Kalissa, George, III, Landon and Carrington; as well as a special friend, Laura Scott and her beloved parrot ""Star"". A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE, 19966, where friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private. Pastor Allen Miller will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Kit's memory to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
