Obituary of Kathleen Virgie Ward:
Kathleen Virgie Ward, 82, of Georgetown passed away gently in the care of the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on July 18, 2016. She was born on November 18, 1933 in Georgetown. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Brethren Church in Georgetown. She married the late Norman Ward, and raised a family with him till his passing in November, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Elsie Conaway Shockley, and grand-daughter of Tolbert and Virgie Conaway. She loved yardwork, cutting grass. She treasured spending time with her friends to enjoy laughter, especially with her great grandson, Russell Norman Murray.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter: Patsy Mitchell and her husband Wayne, of Georgetown and her sister: Margaret Mitchell, and her husband Earl, also of Georgetown. She also leaves her wonderful "McDonalds Friends" and other extended family members and friends. She was preceded, in addition to her parents, by a brother: Calvin Shockley, and a sister: Alma Chorman.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 10 AM till 11:00 AM on Monday, July 25 at Mt. Olivet Brethren Church on Shortly Rd., Georgetown with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Pastor Fike will officiate, with Mrs. Margaret Mitchell presenting the Eulogy. Interment will follow in Carey's Cemetery, Millsboro, DE. Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions in her honor to Mt. Olivet Brethren Church.
