Kristin Lynn Holston's Obituary
Kristin Lynn Holston, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family at home, after a prolonged illness. She was born on February 15, 1963 in Salisbury, MD to the late Elzey and Janice Harrington Collins. Kristin was a member of the Dagsboro Church of God, and a committed, devoted Christian and Mother. She served as the Business Office Manager for Pep-Up, Inc., where she had worked for 27 years. She was a frugal and creative woman, known for her ""pickers"" skills, and ability to find anything for someone at sales, or auctions - particularly at Wilson's Auction. She loved sewing and gardening and ""thrift shopping."" But for her, everything revolved around doing something for someone else. She was genuine, and it was ""never about her,"" it was always about others. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Linden R. Holston, Jr. whom she married in Gumboro, in 1982; and five sisters: Barbara Patey, and husband David, of Salisbury; Joan Mezick, and fiancAC. Ronald MacKinnon, of Salisbury, Charlotte Prado, and husband, Karl, of Annapolis; Sharon Hazzard, and husband Reginald, of Millsboro; Elaine Zonsker, and husband Aaron, of Gumboro; and a brother: David Collins, and wife Debbie, of Gumboro. Another brother-in-law has been Missing in Action, since the Viet Nam Era from a Bermuda Triangle loss: Douglas Holston. She is also survived by nephews and nieces: Scott, and wife Kristen, and Brian Patey; Steve Lewis; Philip and Jason Lewis; Colin Hazzard and Kim Pettyjohn; Allen Hazzard; Michael Collins; Devon Meidinger, and wife Chi; ""Little Paul"" Hignutt, and Amy Hignutt, and Daniel Degan. Also surviving are sisters-in-law: Joanne Crain; Lori Hignutt, and husband Paul; and Terry Holston. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the Dagsboro Church of God, on DuPont Hwy., Dagsboro on Thursday, March 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM where friends may call three hours prior for viewing and visitation. Pastor Kim Tephabock will officiate. Interment follows in Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed, but for those who wish to do memorial contributions, the family suggests either the Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963 or The National Breast Cancer Network; 2600 Network Blvd.; Suite 300; Frisco, TX 75034
