LARRY EDWARD BROUGHTON's Obituary
Mr. Larry Edward Broughton of Millsboro, DE passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. He was 63 years old. Larry was born November 24, 1951 to the late Elsie Elizabeth Broughton and Charles Rogers. He was raised by his maternal grandparents John Lee and Annie Mae Broughton. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Delores Broughton. Larry graduated from Georgetown High School in 1969. After high school he met Stelene Hitchens and they were married 27 years. He was a lifelong truck driver, driving for Townsend Feed Mill, King Cole, Cargil and Allen Family Foods. Larry drove live haul for Perdue Farms from 1990 until his illness. He was an avid collector of die cast model cars and a huge fan of drag racing. He loved to ""shoot the breeze"" with his family and many friends. Larry was a walking GPS, able to tell you the exact route to any destination in the US. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Jeanetta (Dontavis) Williams and Teresa (Jermaine) Sample, his grandchildren, Zachary (Reandra) Hitchens, Deziree (Terez) Gardner, Devonte and Keon Broughton and Kelly and Trevor Sample, two great grandsons, Terez Jr. and Eliaz, one great aunt, Grace Andrews of Frankford, DE, and a host of cousins, and many close friends, especially Nate Sturgis. A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. The funeral will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, also at Watson Funeral Home, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
