Larry James Magley's Obituary
Larry James Magley, 88, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on February 20, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1936, in Peekskill, NY, son of the late Miller and Beatrice (Melius) Magley.
Larry graduated from Shrub Oak High School, class of 1954, and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country. Following his military service, Larry lived in Jefferson Valley, NY, for most of his life. He worked as a senior forklift operator for Grand Union for many years, building lasting connections with colleagues and friends.
Larry was a school bus driver for Yorktown School District upon retirement and served the children and parents of that district for 10 years. He was beloved for his discipline and safety, while always receiving generous Christmas gifts from those he served.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His warm heart and kind spirit touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. He was known as a man of his word, who served continuously and enjoyed life each day. His special gift was making people smile.
Larry is survived by his wife, Maureen (O'Keefe) Magley and children Larry (spouse Janette), Laura (lifelong partner Adam), and Doreen (spouse James).
Larry is survived by 10 grandchildren: Katrina, Shawn, Dylan, Donovan, Caroline, Elesha, Mandy, Amber, McKenzie and Paxton; and 6 great grandchildren: Hailey, Tristan, McKenna, Bridger, Addison and Kayson.
Services will be on March 15th in New York at the United Methodist Church of Shrub Oak, NY @ Noon.
