LAWRENCE ""LARRY"" RICHARD BERGMAN, JR.'s Obituary
Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Richard Bergman, Jr. of Dagsboro, DE passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. He was 69 years old.
Mr. Bergman was born on November 1, 1946 in Halethorp, MD. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Coleman, father, Lawrence R. Bergman, Sr., step-mother, Patricia Bergman, and a brother, Thomas Bergman.
Larry retired from Reed Trucking of Milton, DE after 17 years of service. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran, who also served 20 years in the National Guard and 4 years in the Reserves. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro and the VFW in Millsboro. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes always involved his grandchildren- watching them race, camping, taking trips, fishing, motorcycle riding, and hanging out in the garage.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Theresa Bergman of Dagsboro, DE; a son, Lawrence R. Bergman, III and his wife Joleen of Dagsboro, DE; a daughter, Brenda Sipple and her husband Jerry Sr. of Georgetown, DE; four siblings, Virginia Lynch of Dagsboro, DE; Theresa Jenkins of Smyrna, DE; Ronnie Bew of Tennessee, and Guy Bergman and his wife Cindy of Baltimore, MD; along with eight grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Lawrence IV, Noah, Willow, and Jonah Bergman and Jerry Lee, Jr. and Bud R. Sipple. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015 and from 10:30 - 11:30 on Monday, November 16, 2015, with the funeral beginning at 11:30 AM, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. Burial with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467, DuPont Blvd, Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
