Lee Albert Joines, Jr.'s Obituary
Lee Albert Joines, Jr., 74, of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born on January 9, 1952, in Wilmington, Mr. Joines was the beloved son of the late Lee Joines, Sr. and Nadine Trader.
A proud graduate of Indian River High School, Class of 1970, Mr. Joines built a lifelong career doing what he loved. His passion for autobody work began at Cordrey Ford and eventually led him to open and operate Lee’s Autobody. Later, he continued his work at D&C Auto Sales in Laurel, where he dedicated more than 35 years of hard work and commitment before retiring. Mr. Joines was well known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the pride he took in every job he completed.
Mr. Joines was a former member of the Jaycees, where he valued community involvement and fellowship. He had a deep love for racing and proudly owned his own stock car. He was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR and a devoted supporter of the New England Patriots. Mr. Joines also enjoyed golfing and bowling in leagues alongside his beloved wife. Music was always playing in the background of his life, but nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his family.
Above all, Mr. Joines cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Linda (Marshall) Joines; his son, Jonathon Kenneth Joines (Wendy) of Millsboro, DE; his daughter, Shannon Leigh Joines of Georgetown, DE; and his treasured grandson, Jayce Channing Brittingham of Georgetown, DE, who was truly the apple of his eye.
He is also survived by his siblings: Nadine Blades (Mike) of Dagsboro, DE; Sharin Neff (Derek) of Wilmington, DE; Mark Joines of Berlin, MD; Janet Perone (John) of Seaville, NJ; half-brother John Joines (Tina) of New Castle, DE; half-sister Jennifer Montoro (Joe) of Newport, DE; step-sister Kim Joines (Jenn) of Portage, IN; and step-sister Dawn Voll of Philadelphia, PA; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Mr. Joines will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous heart, his quick wit, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
