LEE ROY WILKERSON's Obituary
Mr. Lee Roy Wilkerson of Gumboro, DE passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 78 years old. Mr. Wilkerson was born in Millsboro, DE to the late John and Pearl Smith Wilkerson. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by a niece, Karen Rickards. Most of his life he was a farmer, but he also held various jobs during his lifetime, including operating a store in Gumboro and a Supervisor at NCR. Lee Roy was a member of Gumboro United Methodist Church. He was involved in late model stock car racing with the Wilkerson Brothers Team. He enjoyed restoring old tractors, and going to auctions and farm sales. Lee Roy was a quiet man, who worked hard. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He is survived by one sister, Edith Rickards and her husband Larry; four brothers, Herman Wilkerson, Charles Wilkerson and his wife Bonnie, Calvin Wilkerson and his wife Judy and Bobby Wilkerson and his wife Terri all of Gumboro, DE, along with eleven nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special canine friend ""Gram"". A viewing and visitation will be held from 6 PM - 8 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE. Another viewing will be held from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 with the funeral starting at 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Willards, MD. Flowers are welcome or donations can be made in Lee Roy's memory to the Gumboro United Methodist Church, 34922 Pear Tree Rd,, Millsboro, DE 19966.
