LEONA PEARL TAYLOR's Obituary
Leona P. Taylor of Laurel, DE passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Taylor was born on February 17, 1931 in Roxana, DE to the late Hollie J. and Pearl Lynch. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Taylor, Sr., who passed in 1995, and siblings, Louis, Vaughn, Rebecca, Margie, Harold and Jehu. She was a wife and mother foremost but she also worked at the Seaford Leader Newspaper, Vlasic Foods, and a sewing factory in Berlin. She enjoyed radio contests, puzzles and word find books. She was a big fan of Dan Satterfield, the WBOC Meteorologist. Many people called her "Mom". She was a feisty woman and very strong willed enough to shake her fist at her doctor and chase kids with a flyswatter. She would do anything for anybody. She is survived by three sons, Robert Lee Taylor, Jr. of Laurel, DE, Virgil A. Taylor and his companion Cheryl Norman of Millsboro, David A. Taylor and his wife Emilita of Laurel, DE, three daughters, Betty Ann Spencer and her companion Max Tijerino of Dagsboro, Mary Jane Willing and her fiancé Raymond Bailey, Jr. of Laurel and Nancy Billings and her husband William of Laurel, 2 brothers, Joseph and Dallas Lynch. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Laura Villegas, James Spencer, Jr. Robert Taylor, III, Robert Toomey, Kim Enger, Maria Bailey, Cody Downs, Anthony Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Thomas Dukes and Kasey Downward, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Laurel, DE. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate.
