and Leonard Layton Butler, 78, of Laurel, DE passed away at Peninsula Regional Medical Center on March 20, 2013. Born in Easton, MD, on April 6, 1934, he was the son of the late James E. and Mildred Smith Butler. He was married in 1967 in Grasonville, MD to Wanda Lee Holden, who survives him. Together, they raised six children. He was an auto mechanic, and was a member of the Improved Order of Redmen #21, of Georgetown. He was a skilled mechanical and transmission technician, who always loved tinkering on motors. He loved traveling and camping, and especially loved to go on cruises with his wife. He loved to joke and to tease, and was quick with the wise cracks. He was ""dry as a corn cob"" in his humor. He was very much loved, and will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife, Wanda - he is survived by his children: Cindy Coleman, and husband Timothy, of Laurel, DE; Mark Thomas, of Centerville, MD; Leonard Butler, Jr., and wife Tammy, of Delmar, DE; Todd Stiles, and wife Sandra, of Ridgely, MD; Lisa Franklin-Butler, of Millsboro; and Wade Butler and his wife, Sue, of Laurel, DE. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Schyler, and sister, Shirley; and a brother, James Edward Butler, Jr. He also is survived by 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and friends. It would be remiss not to also include his beloved canine, ""Lillie"" who was definitely the ""other woman"" in his life! A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE where friends may call one hour prior for a viewing and visitation. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate. Interment follows at Union Cemetery, in Georgetown, DE.
