Lillian Dailey's Obituary
Mrs. Lillian May Dailey, age 90 of Georgetown, DE went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Dailey was born in Baltimore, MD on January 7, 1928 to the late Grover Sizemore and Mabel Finchum-Sizemore. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy H Dailey Sr. as well as two children, Jackie (Butch) Herrmann and Donald Dailey Sr. and one brother, Robert Sizemore.
Lillian was a woman who was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her family would best describe her as their rock. She would make a stranger feel like they knew her their entire life through her loving and caring ways. Lillian was a beautiful, strong, devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Great-Great Grandmother always putting everyone else's needs and wants before her own. She stood out among the rest, Lillian not only raised her own children but through her journey raised her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces. She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed crocheting, cooking big meals, spending time in the yard (gardening), collecting dolls & spending quality time with family and friends. Her children's statement is " When God made our Mom he broke the mold, she is our everything". Lillian will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by four children: Carolyn DuVal and her husband Howard Sr. of Lincoln, DE; Christine Potts and her husband Albert of Georgetown, DE; Arlene Fowler and her husband Gary of Millsboro, DE and Leroy Dailey Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Wharton, TX. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM for visitation and viewing. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Roland Tice will officiate.
