Linda Ann Appling's Obituary
Linda Ann (Hudson) Appling, age 78, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Halton Hudson and Evelyn (Baker) Hudson. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and laughter touched the lives of all who knew her.
Linda worked for many years as a secretary in the realty business, where her professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly spirit were greatly appreciated by colleagues and clients.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Karla Simpson. Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas “Doug” Appling; her son, Kevin Cooper (Kim) of Millsboro, DE; her stepchildren, Lori Allen (Terry) of Alexandria, VA, and Matthew Appling of Millsboro, DE; her grandchildren: Logan Simpson (Savannah) of Georgetown, DE, Kasie Teel (Bobby) of Millsboro, DE, Kalee Cox (Kyle) of Greenwood, DE, Kade Cooper and Karlee Cooper, both of Millsboro, DE; Charlie Allen and Warner Allen of Alexandria, VA; great-grandchildren Paisley Cox and Sophia Cox of Greenwood, DE, and Jax Teel of Millsboro, DE; her brother, Halton “Buddy” L. Hudson (Debbie) of Millsboro, DE; and son-in-law Charlie Simpson (Michelle) of Georgetown, DE.
Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment and milestone. She also had a lifelong love for Disney World, where she delighted in the magic, fun, and memories shared with her loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may visit from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
