Linda was employed part-time by the Indian River School District in the cafeteria at Sussex Central Sr. High School, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She retired in 2009 from Merck Animal Health after 27 ½ as the Packaging Supervisor.
Linda attended Hickory Hill United Methodist Church. Linda loved to be on the go, riding the roads of Sussex County whether attending Monday night dinners at her son's home or following her grandsons as they played Little League, High School or College Baseball. A fan of the Jones Boys, she could be found at their summer outdoor concerts flatfooting. A member of the Wednesday morning McDonald's crew, she enjoyed socializing and traveling especially weekend trips to Lancaster, PA.
She is survived by her sons Allen (Katrina) and Craig (Tammy) Mears and grandchildren Lance, Kyle, Trevor (Samantha) and Shawn Mears and a great grand-daughter, Kinsleigh Faith Mears. She is also survived by her mother Doris (Donald) Carrier, sister Thelma (Jerry) Green and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and State of Emergency a private service will be held with Pastor Karen Mumford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Linda's memory to Kent Sussex Industries, 301 N. Rehoboth Blvd, Milford, DE 19963, a program Linda faithfully supported.
