Jean worked as a bank teller for most of her career, bringing her kindness and diligence to her work. After moving to Millsboro, DE, 50 years ago, Jean became an active and devoted member of Mary Mother of Peace Church, where she found joy in her faith and her church community.
In addition to her devotion to her church, Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid bingo player and cherished the camaraderie she shared with fellow players. As a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, she remained involved in supporting her community. In her free time, Jean could often be found enjoying the excitement of the casino, always with a bright smile and an optimistic spirit.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Trout, who passed away in 2000 after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She is also preceded in death by her two siblings, Marie Goughan and Clifford Hastings.
She is survived by her three children: Marie Larzelere (David), Robin Fidelibus (Nicholas), and Paul Trout, III (Fe); her four grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas, Christopher, and Joy; along with many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family, including the Rohlfing family, who were like a second family to her. Jean will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends and family may call beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow mass at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
