LUISA C HARMON's Obituary
Mrs. Luisa C. Harmon of Georgetown, DE passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, November 6, 2016.
Mrs. Harmon was born on May 5, 1940 in Inarajan, Guam to the late Felix and Maria Crisostomo Cruz. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by six siblings, Eliza Quinata, Rosa Taitague, Jose Cruz, Juan Cruz, Jesus Cruz and Vicente Cruz.
She met the love of her life, Mr. Joseph Harmon, who was serving in the U.S. Navy at the time and the two were married on June 19, 1965 in Tamuning, Guam. He was working at the Andersen Air Force Base air terminal and she worked at the Base Exchange in the terminal. She spent 23 years as a Navy wife, moving every three years with her family. They returned to Delaware in 1985 and decided to make Georgetown their home. She worked at a local bank as a loan processor in Millsboro before deciding to retire and help with her grandchildren. She was a member and Parishioner of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church and a life-time member of the Guam Society of America. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; loved her family, mild mannered, loved to travel, and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking and many of her friends and family loved her Chamorro cooking. Luisa opened her home to nieces and nephews and other family members when needed.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mr. Joseph P. Harmon of Georgetown, DE; four children; Felix C. Harmon and his wife Marlene of Millsboro, DE; Fedora Baquer of Woodbridge, VA; Gregory Harmon of Crofton, MD and Joseph C. Harmon and his wife Courtenay of Ft. Collins, CO; as well as six wonderful grandchildren; Bryan, Ashleigh, Zoe, Bodhi, Cruz and Travis. She is also survived by three sisters; Maria Concepion of Guam, Ana San Nicolas of CA, Carmen Diego of WA, and a brother, Pedro Cruz of Guam.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 2 PM - 5 PM with a Rosary Service at 3 PM at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Mary Mother of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966. Burial will follow at 2 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way Millsboro, Delaware 19966.
